Organization Profile

Who We Are

Valor Veteran Care is a veteran-owned residential care organization providing VA-approved housing and care services to eligible veterans. The organization was founded by a United States Air Force Combat Engineer who served in Operation Enduring Freedom and identified a critical gap in dignified, home-based care options for veterans requiring daily support.

Program Narrative

The Problem We Are Solving

Veterans who require daily care assistance face a stark choice: enter an institutional nursing facility or attempt to live independently beyond their safe capacity. The VA's own Medical Foster Home and Community Residential Care programs were designed to create a third option — home-based care in a private residence. However, the supply of approved homes has not kept pace with demand.

  • The VA estimates that over 40,000 veterans are homeless on any given night in the United States
  • Approved MFH and CRC homes remain in short supply in the Kansas City, Columbus, and Philadelphia metro areas
  • Veterans who qualify for nursing-home level of care under the MFH program frequently wait months for placement due to limited approved home availability
  • SDVOSB operators are underrepresented among VA residential care providers, despite having the deepest understanding of veteran culture and needs

Our Response to That Problem

Valor Veteran Care was built specifically to expand the supply of high-quality, VA-approved residential care homes in underserved markets. Our seven-property portfolio across Missouri, Kansas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania directly addresses the shortage of approved MFH and CRC placements in those regions.

As a veteran-owned operator, we bring a level of cultural competency and personal commitment that institutional operators cannot replicate. Our founder served alongside the veterans we now care for. That is not a marketing statement. It is the foundation of every operational decision we make.

Grant funding would allow us to accelerate property preparation, expand caregiver capacity, and reduce the time between VA approval and veteran move-in, directly increasing the number of veterans we can serve in the near term.
